WHAT:  Beachside Writers. Once again Jane joins award-winning author and columnist (and humorist) Bob Welch. New classes but the same weekend of inspiration, fabulous food, amazing ambiance and nurture from Friday night until Sunday. Beachside is for all people at whatever stage of the writing life you're in, even if you're not sure you are a writer! Check out Bob's website www.bobwelch.net for more information. APRIL

WHERE:  Cannon Beach Library, 131 Hemlock, Cannon Beach, Oregon
WHAT:  NORTHWEST AUTHOR SERIES, sponsored by this unique, privately funded library open to the public, and by the Cannon Beach Book Company.  Jane will speak and the book store will have books available for sale. Last year Jane had to cancel this invitation due to health issues but she’ll be there with bells on talking about all her newest releases including The Daughter’s Walk and Where Lilacs Still Bloom.

WHAT:  Jane will be the guest speaker for the In Their Footsteps program and will talk about "The Daughter's Walk: A Northwest Story of 1896 and Beyond."

WHERE:  Shoalwater Bay Tribal Community Library, Shoalwater Indian Reservation, Washington
WHAT:  Jane's Change and Cherish Series has a connection to Shoalwater country as Emma Giesy and the male scouts she accompanied spent their first winter not far from this Pacific Coast site. Join Jane as she speaks about the power of our own stories to inspire us and heal our spirits, too. Sponsored by the Shoalwater Tribal Library.

WHAT:  It's release day for Jane's latest novel, Where Lilacs Still Bloom, so come get your copy and hear Jane talk about a remarkable woman who taught herself horticulture and whose generosity and lilacs continue to give beauty to the world. WHAT:  A HULDA KLAGER LILAC GARDEN SOCIETY PRESENTATION. Your $35.00 prepaid reservation for this fundraising event to benefit the lilac gardens includes a copy of Jane’s latest release, Where Lilacs Still Bloom, her presentation and signing, refreshments and entrance to the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens and House on the day before the official opening.  Choose either the 10:00-noon or 1:00-3:00 presentation. WHAT: Cynthia, owner of the Redmond Paulina Springs Bookstore, once wrote an endorsement for one of Jane's books so this store holds a special place in Jane's heart.  She loves visiting this store just minutes from her new home.  There's lots of room, always refreshments, too, so bring a friend as Jane shares stories from her latest novel, Where Lilacs Still Bloom, based on the life of a fascinating Northwest woman who affected hundreds around the country.

WHERE:  Paulina Springs Book Store, 252 W. Hood, Sisters, Oregon
WHAT:    Join Jane at one of her favorite book stores as she talks about Where Lilacs Still Bloom, her latest historical novel based on the life of Hulda Klager and her passion for lilacs.  Paulina Springs in Sisters hosted Jane's first ever book signing back in 1991 for Homestead.  It's always an evening full of surprises so join Bunny, Amanda, Brad and all the Sister's staff as they bring Jane to their store.

MAY

WHAT:  “Remembering Emma.” Mother’s Day is just around the corner so consider spending the day in Aurora listening to Jane, visiting the museum and enjoying other special events being planned, and if your Mom can’t make it, bring a friend!

WHAT:  Second annual Newberry Habitat for Humanity walk and fundraiser.  Bring your dog pals and join Jane for a great walk around Sunriver and take in the foliage celebrating generosity, a theme of Jane's latest book, Where Lilacs Still Bloom.

WHERE: Psalm Center, Corban University, 5000 Deer Park Dr. SE, Salem, Oregon
WHAT: Jane will present the keynote and a workshop at this conference called Portal: Art and Faith Writer'sConference at Corban University in Salem, home of such fine writers as Oregon Book Award Winner Gina Ochsner who is the conference coordinator. WHEN: Friday, June 29, 1:00 p.m.
WHERE:  Sierra Vista Middle School, Sunnyside, Washington
WHAT: The 8th annual Sunnyside Summer Institutes Educator Workshop, a gathering for educators from elementary to high school in the Sunnyside region of eastern Washington. Jane will be one of the closing presenters and will talk about engaging kids in writing. She also hopes to send these teachers and other educational staff into summer being encouraged for the year ahead. This is a closed event for Summer Institute attendees. Jane is an honorary member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an educational sorority. She loves teachers!

WHAT: It's quilt Week in Sisters! Jane's back and she's talking about lilacs and Where Lilacs Still Bloom, among other things.  Please join quilters and others (people who applaud all those beautiful quilts!) at this annual event.

WHEN:    Wednesday, July 25, 7:00 p.m.
WHERE:  Scottish Rite Center, 4090 Commercial St., S.E., Salem, Oregon
WHAT:    Mid-Valley Quilt Guild's annual membership meeting. Jane will tell quilt stories along with news of her latest book Where Lilacs Still Bloom. Join Jane as she talks about the power of stories in our lives whether written or stitched.

AUGUST

WHEN:   Wednesday and Thursday, August 8 & 9, 11:00 a.m.
WHERE:   Albertina Kerr Center, 424 N.E. 22nd Ave., Portland, Oregon
WHAT:    Join Jane as she returns to Albertina's for their annual fundraising event. Jane will be speaking about her latest novel Where Lilacs Still Bloom and The Midwife's Legacy, a novella collection that includes "A Mother's Cry" by Jane. WHERE:  Newell House Museum, 8089 Champoeg Rd. NE, St. Paul, Oregon
WHAT:   Join Jane at this historic Oregon site for tales of the past and what those early pioneers still have to teach us about our lives today. This event is a fundraiser for the museum located at the heart of early Oregon. Jane will tell her stories and copies of Where Lilacs Still Bloom and The Midwife's Legacy, a novella collection, will be available. Cost is $30 and includes a delightful outdoor summer Tea. SEPTEMBER

WHEN:  Friday, September 28, afternoon and evening
WHERE: Mondovi High School, Mondovi, Wisconsin
WHAT:   Induction into Mondovi High School Alumni Hall of Fame.  Jane is a graduate of this small town in western Wisconsin and will join a number of graduates who have been so honored. The ceremony will take place at a school assembly in the afternoon and recognition will also occur at the Homecoming football game in the evening.

WHEN:   Saturday, September 29, 1:30 p.m.
WHERE:  Mondovi Public Library, 146 W. Hudson St., Mondovi, Wisconsin (715) 926-4403
WHAT:  The Friends of the Mondovi Public Library will welcome Jane for a presentation.  Join her as she tells stories and remembers the goodness of small towns and public libraries and their contribution to the writing life.  She'll also talk about The Midwife's Legacy (June, Barbour Publishing). Jane's novella called "A Mother's Cry" opens the collection and is set in Mondovi!

OCTOBER

WHEN: Sunday, October 28, 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
WHERE: St. Paul Fire District, St. Paul, Oregon
WHAT:  St. Paul Mission Historical Society Annual Meeting. This little historical society set in the heart of French Prairie was instrumental in Jane's research for the Tender Ties series about Marie Dorion, the only woman who was part of the Astor expedition in 1811. The society published eleven volumes of the Catholic Church records that had been translated from French to English by Harriet Munnick in the 1970's. That effort and commitment to history has opened many doors for researchers and genealogists. Jane will speak at the annual meeting about Marie Dorion and about the importance of history to our contemporary lives. She'll also sign your books!

NOVEMBER

WHEN:    Saturday, November 3, 5:30 p.m.
WHERE:  Yreka, California (Venue TBA)
WHAT:    Jane will be the dinnner speaker for the Siskiyou County Cattlemen/Cattlewomen Asoc. Dinner & Silent Auction.  There may be other opportunities to be with Jane that weekend. Stay tuned!

WHEN:    November 7-11
WHERE:  Bend, Oregon (Venue TBA)
WHAT: Nature of Words 8th annual literary arts festival. Jane serves on the advisory board and will be attending lectures, helping out and enjoying the readings. You can, too! Visit www.natureofwords.org for more information about the visiting authors and events. A real Central Oregon treat!
